Installation error

Dear all,
We are installing TetraX on my friend’s laptop. The Windows version is 11 and we already installed Windows 11 SDK (as was mentioned in the installation guide) and also Python (the latest version) and whatever was needed, but in the end we got this error. Can you please kindly help us on this? (Again, I emphasis we did step by step whatever was mentioned in TetraX guideline, for example we installed microsoft visual c++ build tools etc

)
Cheers,
Milad

Hi Milad,

As far as I can see from the error, it’s written that you require Microsoft Visual C++ 14 or higher. What’s the version you installed already?

Cheers,
Attila

Hi Prof. Kakay,
It
c++
is v14. Please take a look at the attached photo.
Regards,
Milad

Could you please show the full message when fails during compilation?

Best,
Attila

Dear Prof. Kakay,
The first photo(my first post) is all we get when we fail(fail to make wheel for TetraX)

Milad

Hi Milad,

I will have to double check the installation with a Windows 11 system. Unfortunately we all use Linux or Mac computers.
Will get back to you soon!

Cheers,
Attila

Thanks alot Prof. Kakay.

Hi Milad,

Just one more question: the visual package you installed is the Microsoft Visual C++ (MSVC) Build Tools?
I want to be sure that I will install exactly the same things you did.

If I’m not mistaken (I’m not a Windows user), the installed “Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable” is only for running compiled programs and does not include a compiler. TetraX needs the MSVC compiler to build its Cython extensions. Please install Microsoft Visual C++ Build Tools (C++ build tools + MSVC v14.x + Windows SDK) from Microsoft C++ Build Tools - Visual Studio, reboot, and then rerun pip+git install .......tetrax .

Best,
Attila

Hi Prof.Kakay,
Yes, he installed exactly this one (from the TetraX user guide) and also restarted, and then we got that error, for which I shared the figure with you. From that he installed windows 11 SDK((10.0.26100.6901).

Hi Milad,

Please open a command prompt and type “g++ -v” and let me know what’s the result.

Best,
Attila

Hi Prof. Kakay,
We are not at the office. We shall do it on monday if you don’t mind.
Regards
Milad

Dear Prof. Kakai,
We entered ‘g++ -v’ in command prompt and this is what we got.

Milad
